In Taiwan when winter passes flowers blossom in spring like a view of a gorgeous symphony. We can appreciate the spring scenery throughout Taiwan through paintings photos and natural recordings.

5-8: Visiting Ali Mountain in Spring

Wuling is a famous attraction for flower blossom in Taichung. The altitude and weather are suitable for growth of native Taiwanese cherries and Wuling boasts plum and cherry blossoms during every January and February which attracts many tourists to the area to appreciate the sights.

Moving south pink Yoshino cherries and native Taiwanese cherries accompany green mountains in Ali Mountain forming spectacular views of flowers.

Adjacent to Taipei Yangming Mountain National Park was originally called “Grass Mountain” which referred to the valley area surrounded by Datuen Mountain Chihsing Mountain and Shamao Mountain. Starting in February cherries and azaleas blossom in turn with blazes of color presenting a mountain of romance. From March the Festival of the Calla Lily is held in Jhuzihhu area. Among misty clouds fresh and delightful calla lilies blossom in white and green making visitors forget the worries in their daily lives.

11. Pink Trumpet Tree (Tabebuia impetiginosa)

People can often see pink trumpet trees in southern cities. When the weather turns warm the flower of pink trumpet tree blossoms on treetops which presents a charming appearance like an embroidered ball thrown up to the sky.

In March people may often see lily blossom on the hillsides along Northeast Coast spreading fresh fragrance.

14. Chinese Fringe Tree (Chionanthus retusus Lind1. & Paxton)

During March and April Chinese Fringe Trees blossom on the campus of National Taiwan University with white flowers blooming passionately on tiny branches.

15. Kaffir Coral Tree (Erythrina caffra Thunb)

Red as fire the kaffir coral tree blooms in the spring. In the past the Kebalan people used the flower to announce the annual rites of the New Year.

As the flood season of flying fish arrives with the blossom of kaffir coral tree men start arrange bamboo rafts and fishing traps to catch flying fish after the Sea Ritual is held. As a result households often plant kaffir coral trees in their courtyards to indicate seasonal phenomena.

16. Wuling Farm

When the cold winter passes flowers which spread throughout the mountains seem like the calling of the spring attracting people to come out and explore the natural springtime scenery.
